Noninvasive Ultrasound–Photoacoustic Imaging Enhanced by Deep Learning for CMRO₂ Monitoring in Critical Care

PAmed introduces a groundbreaking dual-modal ultrasound and photoacoustic system for real-time, non-invasive monitoring of cerebral metabolic rate of oxygen (CMRO₂), a critical biomarker for brain function in critically ill patients. The system synchronously captures jugular blood flow and oxygen saturation, using deep learning algorithms to enhance image quality and automatically estimate CMRO₂. This enables functional brain monitoring at the bedside, without the need for invasive procedures. With strong clinical and commercial potential, PAmed offers a transformative solution for clinicians to assess patients’ brain health.
