Alcarbo Technologies Limited

Alcarbo Technologies Limited is a biotechnology corporation developing a revolutionary algae photobioreactor system (PBRs) to absorb and fix carbon dioxide (CO2), the most abundant and primary greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. Our innovative technology utilises algae photosynthesis to provide an alternative solution to convert CO2 into a profitable commodity.

Microalgae are efficient carbon-fixing organisms, which can capture 400 times more CO2 than trees can. These micro-organisms can easily be scaled up to significantly offset carbon emissions and release oxygen through photosynthesis. This is a permanent and quantifiable carbon fixing solution. An additional benefit of the proposed system is the by-products, such as lipids and cellulose, which can be sold as raw materials for cosmetics, food supplements and biofuels.

The broad application of the by-products will create a sustainable green business for Hong Kong. Our reactor is space-saving, cost-effective, and more sustainable than other solutions in the market. This project will be a solution for Hong Kong to meet the Paris Agreement target and achieve carbon neutrality before 2050.
