Hopcopter - The world's best jumping robot
Hopcopter is the world’s leading jumping robot, developed by Hopto Technology Co. Limited from the Robotics and Intelligent Systems Laboratory (RISLAB) at City University of Hong Kong. First feastured in Science Robotics in April 2024, it combines multi-rotors with elastic legs to achieve seamless transitions between hopping and flying. A unique attitude estimation system based on reaction force enables stable closed-loop control for continuous jump. It can be equipped with cameras and LiDAR, supporting autonomous navigation powered by artificial intelligence. With high technological barriers, it offers strong advantages in lunar exploration, surveying and mapping, firefighting and rescue, and toy entertainment.
