University of British Columbia - Vancouver Summer Program (UBC/VSP)

The Vancouver Summer Program is a four-week academic experience offered by the University of British Columbia in Canada for international undergraduate students. Designed to nurture academic growth, foster friendships, and broaden global perspectives, the program enables participants to enroll in two academic courses while gaining first-hand insight into Canadian culture and society.

Global Experience for ALL Funding Scheme (GEAFS)

Subject to approval, eligible students may receive support through the Global Experience for ALL Funding Scheme (GEAFS), which covers up to 60% of direct costs, including programme fees, economy-class airfare, and accommodation.

  • GEAFS invitations will be announced in early January.
  • Year 2 / year 3 students with a CGPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Applicants will attend a Departmental Selection Interview in February.
  • Shortlisted students will be notified in March to apply for admission to UBC.
  • Please note: Admission decisions are made solely by UBC.
  • Admitted students must follow the payment schedule and instructions on the official UBC-VSP website.
  • Reimbursement is issued upon successful completion of the program.

GEAFS Funding Priority

Priority for Global Experience for ALL Funding Scheme (GEAFS) will be given to Year 3 students who have not previously participated in an overseas experience of at least four weeks. Students who are not awarded GEAFS funding are still welcome to participate in the program at their own expense.
