1. What is Canvas?

Canvas is the learning management system (LMS) at CityU. It is used for conducting teaching and learning activities online.

2. When can I start accessing my Semester A course sites?

You will be able to access your courses for Semester A when your course instructors release the course sites to students. Canvas is located at https://canvas.cityu.edu.hk/.

Please note that you may not have access to all of your registered courses in your "Courses" menu on Canvas. You need to confirm with your course instructors that they are using Canvas course sites.

3. After I have registered a course in my student schedule via AIMS, when will the course appear in Canvas? What will happen when I drop a course?

Provided that your course instructor has released the corresponding Canvas course, you will be able to access it one day after you have successfully added that course in your student schedule. Similarly, when you drop a course from your student schedule, the corresponding course on Canvas will disappear from your "Courses" menu the next day.

4. How do I make use of Canvas?

5. What is Zoom and how do I make use of Zoom?

Zoom is a video conferencing platform integrated with Canvas. You may refer to Zoom Quick Start Guide for Students (login required).
