Study Load
Exchange students must be enrolled at CityU as a full-time exchange student in order to obtain a student visa in Hong Kong. To fulfil this requirement, exchange students MUST register for at least 12 credits BUT not more than 18 credits in a single semester. Student affiliated to the College of Science (CSCI) and College of Engineering (CENG) must take at least 9 credits of courses offered by departments under CSCI & CENG.
Course Levels
Each course has been assigned a "level" to indicate the degree of academic difficulty associated with the course. Undergraduate exchange students are recommended to choose courses at Level B specified in each course syllabus. However, the academic system of CityU may vary from those of exchange students’ home universities. When making their study plans, participating students should seek academic advice from the advisors of their home universities or from CSCI exchange coordinators.

Prerequisites
Prerequisites are requirements that must be fulfilled before a student is able to register for a particular course. Note that these might include educational or other achievements gained before entry to CityU, e.g., related prior knowledge or relevant work experience. We shall keep individual students informed if they select a course that they have not yet fulfilled the prerequisites.
Precursors
Precursors to particular courses are not mandatory requirements, but students are advised to complete precursors before taking such courses.
