The Mid-Autumn Festival came soon after the beginning of the new semester this year. The bright full moon reminded our non-local students of the warmth of being with their families. Therefore, the Student Residence Office organised a series of Mid-Autumn Festival celebrating events to make them feel less homesick while promoting Chinese traditional festival culture in their new home.
Residents made their own unique lanterns and mooncakes in the lantern-making and mooncake workshops. Professor Raymond CHAN,
Vice-President (Student Affairs) of the City University of Hong Kong, came and joined the mooncake-making workshop to extend the warmth of becoming a part of the CityU family. He also distributed various festive fruits and mooncakes for our residents to spread the joy of the celebration. For those who were in quarantine due to COVID-19, Professor CHAN extended his care through a virtual meeting with these students. This way, they could still enjoy the food and time together during this celebration.
CityU is indeed a family, and no matter what, especially in celebrations like this, no one is left behind or forgotten.
