Professor WANG Cheng from the Department of Electrical Engineering was awarded a Strategic Topics Grant of HK$22 million* to support his project titled “Terahertz Photonic Chip for Integrated Sensing and Communications in the 6G Era”. This project plays a crucial role in the advancement of next-generation 6G wireless networks, promising faster, more efficient data transmission and enhanced sensing capabilities. The funding would accelerate innovations in this rapidly evolving field, positioning the department and CityUHK at the forefront of terahertz technology research.
