Q. What are the eligibility requirements for joining?

Eligible employer should be a local company in operation for at least 6 months in Hong Kong. To participate in CARLS 2.0, interested employers should provide work exposure opportunities, whether full-time graduate employment or full-time contract to CityU graduates of Class 2021. Work exposure should start between May - October 2021, with durations of at least 3 months or more.


Q. What documents would I need to provide to CityU?

Before recruitment:
a. The mutual agreement “Agreement of CARLS 2.0” to be signed between CityU and your firm once you confirm to employ CityU 2021 graduating students for the Scheme.

After recruitment:
b. Copy of employment contract with monthly salary figure.
c. Copy of payslip of 3 months.


Q. What is the maximum number of CityU graduates can my firm hire?

There is no limit. Eligible jobs will be uploaded to our in-house online job platform – JobPlus for students’ viewing.


Q. How can my firm apply?

Respective employers can apply for the Scheme via the QuestionPro link as provided by the invitation email sent by the relevant Careers and Employability Consultants (CECs) of Colleges, Offices and CLC (mini-site link of contact of CECs to be added here) of CityU.


Q. How many times can my firm join?

There is no limit.


Q. When will my firm get the reimbursement?

Upon satisfactory completion of a maximum of 3-month work exposure; eligible matching fund will be reimbursed to participating employers by the University, subject to provision of necessary supporting documents. A minimum of 4 to 6 weeks processing times should be expected.


Q. Will I receive any notification once the reimbursement of matching fund has been submitted?

Yes, all participated employers will receive a notification from CityU once the application of reimbursement of matching fund has been submitted.


Q. When is the deadline for submitting the reimbursement application?

Participated employers should submit the reimbursement application via the link provided by our Careers and Employability Consultant as soon as the appointed graduate has satisfactory completed the 3-month work exposure.


Q. In the case of unfinished work exposure due to graduates’ premature departure or under any special circumstances, will reimbursement still be available?

Yes. In this case, reimbursement to the employers will be made on a pro-rata basis.
