Sharing Session with Deputy Secretary for Justice, Mr Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan, SBS, JP

A sharing session with Deputy Secretary for Justice, Mr Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan, SBS, JP, organised by the School of Law, was held in the afternoon of 3 April 2023 at CityU. Around 100 School of Law students and staff attended the event.

Alumnus speaker Mr Horace Cheung, who is an LLB and PCLL graduate of CityU, was warmly welcomed by Professor Lin Feng, Acting Dean of the School of Law. Mr Cheung was then invited to share the work of the Department of Justice and recent developments of the rule of law in Hong Kong with the audience. A Q & A session ensued, with participants enthusiastically exchanging views with Mr Cheung, who in turn gave insightful responses, such as the role of Hong Kong following the establishment of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed) Preparatory Office in Hong Kong, the opportunities for legal professionals arising from the development of the Greater Bay Area, and the relationship between the Judicial systems of Hong Kong SAR and the Mainland China. Dr Ron Kwok, Director of Alumni Relations Office, also attended the event to welcome Mr Cheung.
