School of Energy and Environment Alumni Association’s Fresh and Green Discovery at O-Farm Hong Kong

On 28 September 2025, CityUHK Alumni Association of School of Energy and Environment organised an insightful visit to O-Farm Hong Kong, a leading local organic farm founded and operated by a dedicated CityUHK graduate, Mr Yip Tsz Shing.

The event provided a unique dual-perspective on sustainability, connecting theory with practice. Alumni first engaged in an educational session on selecting healthy carbohydrates for daily nutrition, followed by a stimulating group discussion.

The learning continued in the field, where alumni gained firsthand knowledge of organic crop cultivation. The highlight was a taro harvesting session, where alumni had the opportunity to dig and collect their own produce. The event ended with everyone sharing a traditional Chinese dessert soup and going home with some fresh, organic taro—a tangible reminder of the day's focus on health and sustainable living.
