ES Talk Series Enriched All with “The Role of the Security Bureau in Coordinating Development and Security”

On 25 August 2026, the CityUHK Eminence Society (ES) welcomed Mr Tang Ping-keung, GBS, PDSM, JP, Secretary for Security of the HKSAR Government, for dinner talk on “The Role of the Security Bureau in Coordinating Development and Security” (保安局在統籌發展與安全方面的角色).

The evening began with a warm gathering of CityUHK representatives, ES members, and guests, setting the stage for an insightful exchange on an important topic closely connected to Hong Kong’s continued development. Mr Tang shared his perspectives on the evolving security landscape and the role of the Security Bureau in supporting a safe and stable environment for Hong Kong to thrive.

His remarks offered participants a closer look at the work and responsibilities of the Security Bureau, as well as the opportunities arising from Hong Kong’s advancing environment.

The conversation continued with an interactive Q&A session. Guests actively participated by raising thoughtful questions, creating a lively and substantive dialogue with Mr Tang and others.

The sharing session was followed by a networking dinner, where guests continued their conversations and networked in a relaxed atmosphere. The evening provided not only an opportunity to learn from an experienced public official, but also a valuable platform for ES members and guests to connect, exchange ideas and strengthen their ties with one another.

The evening reflected the spirit of the CityUHK Eminence Society in bringing together accomplished alumni and members of the University community to engage with prominent leaders, and build meaningful connections.
