CityUHK Convocation Alumni Sports Discovery Day

CityUHK Convocation successfully hosted the Alumni Sports Discovery Day on 8 August, bringing together about 170 alumni, their families and friends for an energetic and enjoyable day of sports, exploration and networking on the CityUHK campus. The event offered participants an opportunity to experience the facilities at the University's brand-new Hu Fa Kuang Sports Centre (Sports Centre), take part in a range of interactive sports activities, and reconnect with fellow alumni in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr Gabriel Ho, Chairman of the Convocation, who noted that the occasion aimed to bring back fond memories of alumni’s  university days and encouraged them to reconnect with fellow alumni, forge new friendships, and enjoy the day’s activities.  Mr Danny Chow, Vice-Chairman of the Convocation, added that the Alumni Sports Discovery Day was conceived to provide alumni, together with their families and friends, with a first-hand experience of the all-new Sports Centre.

The programme featured sports-based game booths, a jogging track challenge, and try-out sessions for pickleball, badminton and table tennis. Participants also joined guided tours of the Sports Centre's facilities, including the Main Sports Hall, Indoor Jogging Track, Squash Court, Table Tennis Room and Physical Fitness Room. A photo booth and souvenir station further added to the lively and engaging atmosphere.

The event was well received by alumni, many of whom commended the quality of the Sports Centre's facilities and the enjoyable experience on the day.
