CityU and ChainIDE Host Pioneering Event on Web3's Mass Adoption
A trailblazing event on the mass adoption of Web3 technologies was co-hosted by CityU and ChainIDE, a leading integrated development environment (IDE) platform for blockchain technology on 14 April 2023 for over 30 CityU alumni and distinguished guests from the Web3 industry. The gathering brought together all participants to engage in a robust discussion from both academic and practical perspectives.
Web3, an emerging decentralized internet and social infrastructure, promises to revolutionize the way we interact with the web, offering a possibility of a more democratized digital economy. As a key driver of innovation, it has become the subject of intense interest from academia and industry alike. CityU and ChainIDE's joint event served as a unique opportunity for thought leaders and industry pioneers to share ideas, experiences, and best practices to promote the development and adoption of Web3 technologies.
The event was arranged by Dr Xiaofan Liu from the Department of Media and Communication of CityU. Esteemed speakers from CityU's faculty, alumni, as well as Web3 entrepreneurs, contributed to the day's proceedings by offering a range of presentations and interactive panel discussions that covered topics such as the user characteristics and behavior patterns in Web3, the onboard of developers in Asia, Africa, and Europe, and the governance of future Web3 self-sovereign communities known as Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs). The exchange of ideas and experiences between the academic and industry participants facilitated a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities that Web3 presents.
The collaboration between CityU and ChainIDE represents a significant step in bridging the gap between academia and industry in the pursuit of Web3's mass adoption. By fostering a strong dialogue between stakeholders, events like this help pave the way for a more decentralized, equitable, and prosperous digital future.
