AGM Talk cum Annual Dinner 2023 of CityU Engineering Doctorate Society

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) Talk cum Annual Dinner 2023 of CityU Engineering Doctorate (EngD) Society was successfully held at Faculty Lounge on 30 November 2023. The event began with an insightful talk by Dr Sunny Chai, EngD graduate and Chairman of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP) Corporation, on the future development of innovation and technology in Hong Kong.

Dr Rocky Lam, President of the EngD Society for 2023-2024, then presented the vision of the Society, emphasising its mission to empower Hong Kong as a smart solutions marketplace and support CityU alumni in exploring foreign markets. He also highlighted the importance of digital transformation and collaboration with universities, start-ups, and innovation hubs. The subsequent AGM featured a summary of the Society's latest development and activities in the previous year by Dr Lotto Lai, the President for 2022-2023, and the announcement of the committee members and advisors for the Society's 2023-2024 term.

In the latter part of the AGM, a video was presented featuring Dr Ray Kong, Vice President, interviewing Professor Dang Chuangyin, Head of the Department of Systems Engineering (SYE), and Professor Liu Cheng, Assistant Professor of SYE, on the topic about intelligent manufacturing. Following the interview, Dr Herbert Yeung, Treasurer, gave a presentation about the financial status of the Society.
