Alternative splicing modulation by G-quadruplexes

Alternative splicing is central to metazoan gene regulation. By over 1800 high-throughput tests and analyzing 11 species, our member Dr. Chun Kit Kwok shows strong enrichment of G-quadruplex motifs at splice sites in mammals and birds, implying a conserved splice regulatory mechanism.
