Software Copyright Management

for Staff

The University treats the protection of intellectual property seriously and therefore only licensed software can be used and installed.  The Software Copyright Declaration and Compliance Observation (SCDCO) is established to ensure only licensed software are installed and used by staff.  As its name implies, SCDCO consists of two parts, namely a declaration procedure and a compliance observation procedure.  For declaration, users are required to declare annually in AIMS on the legitimate use of software on all University-owned devices allocated to them.  Under the observation procedure, the Central IT will periodically scan for software installed on these computers for compliance checking.
