CityU encourages all students to gain valuable international experience. In addition to the semester-long Student Exchange Programme, each summer, CityU students are able to participate in various short-term learning programmes of 28 days or more, organised by the University, in order to experience studying outside of Hong Kong.
Important update on 18 March: Due to the unstable situation across the globe caused by COVID-19, the University has decided to suspend all overseas programmes and activities in summer 2020.
Most of the programmes are credit-bearing and tailored by various colleges and schools for students with specific learning interests and academic backgrounds. See options supported by the Global Experience for All Funding Scheme here.
You may also join one of the CityU Discovery@World Programmes (CDWP), managed by the Global Engagement Office (GEO), which are open to students from different disciplines.
Similar to regular semester exchanges, the Summer Exchange Programme offers students the opportunity to earn academic credits while studying with our partner universities during the summer term without paying tuition fees to the host institution.
Apart from the university-organised summer activities, CityU students may also consider attending one of the eligible summer programmes and apply for funding support by the International Summer Experience Sponsorship (ISES).
The majority of the summer learning programmes are heavily sponsored by the University to reduce the students’ financial burden. If you are planning on setting up an outbound programme, please visit our funding resources page to see the various options available to make your programme more affordable to your students.
