Introduction

The 2nd International Conference on Biomedical Applications of Nanomaterials (ICOBAN 2018) will be held at the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, from 9 to12 January 2018.

Nanomaterials are materials at nano-scale sizes, usually 1-100 nm. Due to their ultra small size, nanomaterials have demonstrated novel physico-chemical properties and found widespread applications in biomedical field, e.g. diagnostic sensor and targeted drug delivery. Our society today is confronted with various challenges, such as increasing number patients of cancer and neurological diseases, etc. These challenges have propelled the scientific community to develop new types of nanomaterials and formulate novel solutions for diagnostic and treatment purposes. Research in this area has gained enormous attraction as the tools and platforms developed will have significant impact on the future of biotechnology and medicine. By bringing together preeminent experts in the field, ICOBAN2018 will serve as an excellent platform
  1. to provide a forum for extensive scientific discussion and debate among the most prominent experts in nanomaterial research.
  2. to formulate forward-thinking strategies for the design of novel nanomaterials for combating diseases such as cancer and neurological diseases.
  3. to establish a network for the faculty members in local universities and international experts for future collaborations.
  4. to expose young researchers and postgraduate students from local institutes to conference of leading edge research and drive the development of novel nanomaterials for biomedical applications in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is a metropolitan city, where the East meets the West. Coming to Hong Kong is easy by flight from all over the world.

We look forward to seeing you in January 2018.
