At the 2025 Joint Annual Conference of Physics Societies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area cum Quantum Technology Forum, two PhD students from City University of Hong Kong, Wu Jiahao and Dai Fei, were awarded the Best Poster Award for their research presentations.

The annual conference is a key platform uniting physicists across the Greater Bay Area to share advances in fundamental and applied physics. This year’s event featured a special Quantum Technology Forum, reflecting the region’s growing emphasis on quantum science and its transformative applications.

Wu and Dai’s achievements highlight the strength of young researchers emerging from Hong Kong. Their posters stood out among numerous entries, demonstrating both scientific depth and effective communication of complex ideas. Recognition at such a regional forum provides valuable visibility and encouragement for early-career scholars.

Both students are supervised by Prof. WANG Xin Sunny of CityU’s Department of Physics, whose group is active in quantum computing and quantum information research. The award not only affirms the students’ talent but also showcases the role of strong mentorship in cultivating the next generation of scientists.

The success of Wu Jiahao and Dai Fei underscores the vibrant research culture in the Greater Bay Area and the importance of cross-border platforms in nurturing quantum talent. Their recognition contributes to the momentum of Hong Kong’s growing profile in quantum research and education.
