Dr Aaron Yang joined City University of Hong Kong as a Postdoc in September 2020. Dr Yang is an epidemiologist whose interest is mainly on the quantitative analysis including foundations of statistics, generalized linear models, latent class models and Bayesian statistics.
Funded by Massey University, Dr Yang completed his PhD in epidemiology in 2020 with distinction. His thesis was selected on the Dean's List of Exceptional Theses. His PhD work is the first comprehensive study of bovine digital dermatitis in New Zealand dairy system. Besides his own research project, Dr Yang also participated in many projects on a wide range of topics including diagnostic test, agreement statistics, rabies, vaccine and animal welfare in both New Zealand and overseas. One of them has been awarded the Most Commendable Paper published in the New Zealand Veterinary Journal prize by the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
Dr Yang also serves as a referee for several animal/veterinary science journals, mainly for Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Journal of Dairy Science and New Zealand Veterinary Journal. Apart from research, Dr Yang has experience teaching mathematics and statistics at high school and university environments.
