Professor Johnny Ho’s Research Recognized Among Hong Kong’s Top Ten Innovation & Technology News 2025
Congratulations to Professor Johnny Ho on his remarkable achievement in the “2025 Hong Kong Top Ten Innovation & Technology News” selection!
The recognized research story, titled “Birdlike Broadband Neuromorphic Visual Sensor Arrays for Fusion Imaging”, highlights a groundbreaking collaboration between Professor Ho’s team and Central South University. Together, they have developed a wearable bionic device that mimics the extraordinary visual capabilities of birds while operating with nearly zero power consumption. This innovation marks a significant breakthrough in the field of machine vision systems. According to Professor Ho, integrating large-area wearable visual bionic devices onto any surface can help advance artificial intelligence hardware into everyday life. Notably, Professor Ho’s research was the only project from CityUHK selected as one of the Top Ten stories in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Top Ten Innovation & Technology News, organized annually by the Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Centre, highlights Hong Kong’s most impactful scientific and technological achievements. In 2025, over 4,000 professionals from universities, research institutes, and the education sector participated in online voting, selecting the Top Ten stories from 40 shortlisted entries.
The recognition further reinforces CityUHK and MSE’s position as a leader in innovation and technology development.
