CSCI Faculty Members Feature in “Science in the Public Service”

Professor Sunny Wang and Professor Condon Lau, faculty members from the College of Science (CSCI), will be speakers in two community engagement activities of the coming “2025 Science in the Public Service” (SIPS), a platform that brings together leading scientists and the general public.

Professor Sunny Wang, Associate Professor from the Department of Physics, will speak in the “Quantum Perspectives and Future Education Forum: An Exploratory Journey from the Microscopic to the Macroscopic” with the theme of “The Exotic Quantum World: Rethinking Reality at the Smallest Scales”, on 16 August from 2:30 pm to 4 pm, at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Science Museum.

Professor Condon Lau, also an Associate Professor from the Department of Physics, will participate in the “Science Exploration Activities” and will talk about “Generative AI in Healthcare and Education” on 3 September, from 3 pm to 4 pm and 4 pm to 5 pm, at the Earth Science Gallery at the Hong Kong Science Museum. Their expertise and dedication will be instrumental in promoting science to the general public.

“Science in the Public Service” (SIPS) is a joint campaign by government bureaux and departments, as well as other organisations, to promote their scientific work and application of technology to the general public. A series of public forums and lectures on the theme “Science Experience and Data Application” will be held from August to December 2025 at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Science Museum, free of charge.
