Fostering Collaboration and Academic Exchange: Delegation from Harbin Institute of Technology Visits CityUHK SEE

On 16 June 2026, the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) welcomed a distinguished delegation from the School of Energy Science and Engineering at the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), led by Dean Prof. Gao Jianmin and Deputy Director Prof. Zhang Yaning, for a comprehensive visit aimed at deepening research partnerships and exploring academic programme collaborations.

The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with CityUHK faculty members, including Prof. Charles Xu, Prof. Benjamin Horton, Prof. Chunhua Liu, Prof. Angus Yip, Prof. Wei Wu, Prof. Jian Wang, and Prof. Xue Wang. Joining the HIT delegation were Prof. Guene Lougou Bachirou and Dr. Zhao Wenke. The discussions focused on opportunities for collaborative research, talent development, and academic programme partnerships in areas of mutual interest.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured SEE's research laboratories and gained first-hand insights into the School's state-of-the-art facilities and ongoing research initiatives. The programme also included strategic discussions on academic programme collaboration, with both institutions exploring opportunities to enhance student exchange, joint training, and interdisciplinary learning experiences.

The visit further strengthened the partnership between CityUHK and Harbin Institute of Technology, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration in research, education, and innovation.
