To strengthen bonding among mentors and mentees in the College of Science (CSCI) Mentorship Programme, the College regularly organises networking events. On 11 April 2026, a guided tour of the exhibition “PROTOTYPING: 創新演煉”, presented by Professor Alvin Yip, Director of the Indra and Harry Banga Gallery, followed by a mingling session in the Alumni Lounge, was arranged for mentors and mentees at CityUHK campus.
The exhibition “PROTOTYPING: 創新演煉” showcased more than twenty groundbreaking innovations, including those developed by CSCI faculty members at CityUHK, within a dynamic “Living Lab” environment. During the tour, Professor Yip provided detailed explanations of the concepts and processes behind each innovation, offering valuable insights into how scientific ideas evolve into tangible prototypes. His guidance enriched participants’ understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of innovation, demonstrating how science, art, and technology converge to create impactful solutions for society.
Following the tour, a mentor–mentee mingling session was held in the Alumni Lounge, offering a warm and welcoming environment for participants to continue their conversations. The informal setting and relaxed atmosphere allowed mentors and mentees to deepen connections, exchange experiences, and reflect on the insights gained during the exhibition. Together, the tour and networking session created a well‑rounded experience that underscored the value of innovation, dialogue, and community within the College of Science.
