Course Aims

The aims of this course are:

(a) to introduce students to the history of Chinese literature from the beginning to the Qing dynasty;
(b) to teach students main genres and features of classical Chinese literature
(c) to develop students' ability to understand and interpret classical literary writings, and to discover and appreciate the aesthetics, moral and ethical dimensions of classical Chinese literature.
