Chan Sui Kau Hall Chan Wing Fui Scholarships

Miss BYUN Jiyun

BBA in Accountancy, Year 3

BYUN Jiyun

As I have been living in Chan Sui Kau Hall for 3 years until now, I have experienced a lot of joy, cooperation, and delight from different activities. Since Chan Sui Kau Hall is multinational place, I have met students from various countries and shared our cultures. As communicating each other with new interests, I could have an opportunity to get close to people I met in the hall.

Of course in order to make friends in our hall, I had to participate a lot of activities which gave me time to spend with them. I could learn some cooking skills when I tried to cook some dessert or holiday meals from different countries, and hand craft skill as well by painting and cross stitching. Especially, during the PEK season, I worked as a manager of table tennis team. Through the several practice and matches, team members and I could have stronger bonding and collaboration as we trust in each other.

Not only through the interesting activities but also through social services such as visiting mental health association, cleaning the beaches, and giving out food to elders, I could gain a lot of experiences as well as a feel of achievement.

There is another way to get close to hall mates, by communicating with your floor mates. It is comparatively easier to meet even by accident on the same floor, and that gives you opportunity to share interests, cook dinner together, or just even have a talk about your day.

Now, as being selected as a scholarship recipient, I would like to contribute more to Chan Sui Kau hall by holding some activities, especially to improve some problems happening in the hall, and communicating with hall mates more actively to form friendly, warm, comfortable place to them.
