It is my great privilege to be awarded the Hall scholarship in Hall 10, where, during the last 12 months, I have had a really happy time and had improved myself in an all-round way.

Last September, as a new resident in Hall10, no sooner had I joined the big family than I started to participate in all kinds of activities in order to make new friends and help create a better living environment in our hall.

Firstly, I spared no effort to help with the development of a supportive learning and living environment. As a member of Hall10’s Energy Savings Committee, I would remind other residents to turn off the light and tap before leaving the common room so as to save energy. As a the floor representative of 5F, I would buy necessities such as sugar, salt and oil for my fellow residents and remind them to clean up after cooking in the common room.

Secondly, I was always eager to participate in activities that helped me step out of my comfort zone and make international friends. For instance, during the cooking classes, I have learned how to cook India and Indonesia delicacies from other residents, and during the International Cuisine Night, I have prepared a Taiwanese dessert Mochi for residents from different countries. During the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Spring Festivel, I have performed Chinese dances to introduce Chinese culture to students from different countries, which had attracted a large number of friends!

Thirdly, I have participated in various activities at different levels.
In terms of the floor level, I have attended the floor meetings twice for the last year, and as the floor representative, I have organized a hot pot night during which residents of 5th floor enjoyed the delicious fool while chatting. I have also organized the floor decoration and led my team members to decorate our sweet homes.
In terms of hall activities, I have participated in the Welcoming parties, the Big Bowl Feast, Art classes, hiking, public lectures and so on, in which I gradually learned more about our hall, about Hong Kong, and about the world. Additionally, as a member of Hall10 volunteer team, I have contributed to many volunteer activities such as the GROW project, the JVSJ English Reading Program and the Better Festival, during which process I enhanced my social responsibility.
As for inter-hall level, as one of the Hall Representatives, I had took part in PECK Competitions such as Athletic Meet, Tennis Competition, Table-tennis Competition and Singing Contest, during which not only had I improved myself but also I had made a number of friends, who made my hall life beautiful and precious!

Living in Hall 10 is one of the best choices that I make during my university life, and I really appreciate it that I am awarded the Hall 10 Scholarship, for it is proof of what I contributed, what I achieved, and what I gained during the last year. Hopefully in the future I can contribute more to my Hall 10!
