Important Notes for Application

1. Non-local students admitted to full-time government-funded bachelor's degree programmes are eligible to apply for Student Residence, with higher priority granted during their first two years of study (i.e. Academic year 2023/24 and 2024/25) under the current Hall Admission Policy.

2. All students are required to submit hall application by deadline, otherwise, NO bedplace will be reserved even they have higher priority in first two years of study.

3. Higher priority will only be granted in first two years of study (i.e. Academic year 2023/24 and 2024/25), and the priority given cannot be transferred to subsequent years of study (i.e. 3^rdyear of study or thereafter).

4. For subsequent years of study (i.e. 3^rdyear of study or thereafter), non-local students are expected to secure their own housing in the market and are advised to prepare funds to cover such accommodation. Further information can be obtained from the Student Residence Office website.

5. Hall application is on yearly basis. Please pay attention to the application period and late application will not be entertained.

1. Residential Period and Hall Lodging Fees

Full residential year hall places are to be offered to successful applicants.

Hall lodging fee of residential year 2023/24 is payable in two instalments to cover the whole residential period. In general, the due date of the 1st instalment is (tentative) in September and the 2nd instalment is (tentative) in December.

The hall lodging fee for 2023/24 is listed below:

3. Submission of Application

Students interested in living in the Student Residence should read and agree to comply with Regulations Governing Student Residence before submitting their application.

For prospective students receiving CityU admission offer after 31 July 2023, please send your hall application together with late admission offer letter as proof to srouga@cityu.edu.hk as soon as possible and the offer of on-campus accommodation shall be subject to room availability. However, hall application after the commencement of the residential period will NOT be entertained.

4. Release of Application Results

5. Acceptance of Hall Offers

Upon the announcement of application results, students have to pay a Confirmation Fee to indicate the acceptance of the offer by a specified deadline. The confirmation fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

No place will be reserved if you missed the payment deadline.

6. Room Allocation and Room Type

Student Residence offers shared double rooms and limited number of single rooms. Students will be normally assigned to double rooms. The small number of single rooms will be firstly assigned to those who have medical reasons or special needs with supporting documents enclosed in the completed application. The room assignment result will be announced 3 days before the residential period.
