Clay Workshop: Chinese Architecture (Resident-Led Activity)

The event beautifully blended art and history, allowing participants to explore the essence of traditional Chinese architecture through hands-on clay crafting. After a short introduction to the cultural significance of historic buildings, residents formed groups to recreate architectural features—or to let their imagination take flight with unique designs of their own. The creative session ended with a cozy sharing of pizza and traditional Chinese snacks, making for an evening that was both educational and delightful.

Sword 101

Residents unleashed their inner warriors in a beginner-friendly sword workshop covering fundamental techniques and safety basics. With plenty of enthusiasm (and snacks!), participants learned the art of controlled movement and focus. The energetic session offered a fun, confidence-building introduction to this ancient martial discipline.

Hall 3
Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

Under the glowing harvest moon, Hall 3 joined the festive celebration on 2 October 2025 at the Kowloon Tong Compound. Residents hosted lively games and activities that drew laughter and excitement throughout the evening. Small prizes and cheerful interactions made the night as bright and heart-warming as the moonlight itself.

Dumpling Night

The scent of freshly made dumplings filled the common room as residents came together for an evening of cooking, music, and fun. Around ten participants gathered to learn, fold, and share plates of homemade dumplings in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The event brought warmth to the start of the semester and strengthened the bond among hallmates.

Chess Tournament

Strategy and skill took centre stage at Hall 5’s exhilarating Chess Tournament. Residents engaged in intense matches that tested foresight and tactics, culminating in a thrilling finale where two champions claimed well-deserved vouchers. Beyond friendly rivalry, the event-built camaraderie and a sense of community through shared passion and mental challenge.

Well-Being Workshop: Alcohol Ink Art

Hall 6 residents kicked off the new Well-Being Workshop series with a vibrant alcohol ink art session under the Wofoo Well-Being Co-creation Project. Participants discovered the magic of flowing colours, creating unique artworks that sparked surprise and delight. Beyond learning a new art form, the session offered a mindful escape where residents could relax, chat, and connect. Laughter, conversation, and creativity filled the room, making it a perfect blend of self-expression and community bonding.

Weekly Planner Workshop

Residents explored the art of organization and mindfulness in this creative planning session. By designing personalized weekly planners and vision boards, participants found new motivation to balance academic goals and personal growth. The workshop encouraged self-discipline, focus, and positive habits in a supportive environment.

Sweet Moments: Mochi Making

Laughter and the aroma of fresh mochi filled the air as residents rolled, filled, and shaped the sweet treats together. Between batches, the room turned into a lively board-game corner where participants bonded over snacks and friendly matches. The night ended with flour-dusted hands, full hearts, and the comforting feeling that friendship is the sweetest ingredient of all.

4 a.m. Dim Sum Run (Resident-Led Activity)

Hall 9’s first resident-led activity took creativity to a new level—dim sum at dawn! Participants ventured out at 4 a.m. to a local hidden gem in Shek Kip Mei, sampling a wide range of dishes, including vegetarian options. The late-night adventure offered newcomers a delicious introduction to Cantonese cuisine and left everyone with memorable stories and satisfied smiles.

RT Homecoming Gathering

To celebrate the spirit of continuity and connection, Hall 10 hosted an RT Homecoming Gathering. With the arrival of new Residence Master Professor Wing Chung, former Residence Master—including Professor Henry and Mrs. Chung—reunited for meaningful conversations and shared memories. Everyone enjoyed a warm, friendly atmosphere with delicious food and discussions about Hall 10’s future direction. The gathering honored the hall’s legacy while strengthening bonds across generations of the hall community.

Inter-hall Contest Basketball Fun Day

In October, Eleveners came together to compete in the ICFD Basketball Men 5x5 Tournament. Although the team didn’t claim the championship, the event was filled with energy, teamwork, and cheers from supportive hallmates. It offered a spirited opportunity for residents to bond through friendly competition and create lasting memories both on and off the court.
