Virtual Reality: Refugee Walk 360
Home

Introduction

The conditions for Hong Kong refugees and asylum seekers are adverse as Hong Kong has not signed the 1951 Refugee Convention to secure the rights of the displaced. During their wait for the outcome of refugee claim and resettlement, they often face rejection and prejudice from the local community. However, they are in dire need of shelter, clothing, food, financial assistance, medical and psycho-social services in order to live with dignity.

In this VR tour, we are going to have a first-hand experience of the life of a refugee in Hong Kong. The virtual tour will first take you to Centre for Refugees established by Christian Action, which provides a holistic programme for refugees’ basic needs, located in Tsim Sha Tsui of Hong Kong. Then, we will experience the places refugees of Hong Kong are able to go on foot due to their insufficient transportation funds. Afterwards, you can visit a refugee’s home.
