Full-time UGC-funded students who encounter financial difficulty may apply for various forms of financial assistance such as Government grants and/or loans, bursaries, loans, emergency funds. Details can be obtained from the Student Development Services website.
Part-time students on self-financing programmes may apply for the Government’s Non-means Tested Loan Scheme. Application forms are obtainable from District Offices and the Student Financial Assistance Agency.
Scholarships and prizes are donated by private organizations, professional bodies, individuals, School of Law non-UGC fund as well as the Government. They are normally awarded to students on the recommendation of the Dean on the basis of academic merit.

Purpose of the Scholarship
To reward outstanding students with law background and admitted to the School of Law’s Master of Laws (LLM) Programme, including the International Economic Law Stream, Corporate and Commercial Law Stream, Intellectual Property and Technology Law Stream, Common Law Stream, Chinese and Comparative Law Stream and General Stream.
Number and Value of Awards
A maximum of 3 scholarships, each to the value of 12-credit tuition fees, which equals HK$74,400.
The number of scholarships and the allocation of scholarships each year are left entirely at the discretion of the Law School.
Eligibility
All students who apply for the LLM Programme will automatically be considered.
Criteria for Award
The Scholarship shall be based on a consideration of relevant factors, primarily the academic achievements of the applicants. Applicants may be invited to an interview.
To receive the Scholarship, a recipient must:
1. accept admission offer, enrol in the LLM programme by paying all required fees and commence his/her study in Semester A of the given academic year; and
2. undertake an academic load of minimum 12 credit units in his/her study in Semester A of the given academic year.
Recipients must maintain a good academic standing in the entire study period of LLM programme, complete the LLM programme and obtain LLM degree within his/her maximum study period.
Failure by any recipient to comply with any condition specified above will result in forfeiture of the Scholarship. The School of Law may also require a recipient in breach of the above to repay the scholarship in full to the School.

UGC Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme
The Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law has successfully obtained fellowships from the UGC Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme (Second Cohort) for 2021/22 intake. The fellowship recipients are required to pay a minimum tuition fee of HK$42,100 and the differences will be subsidized by the fellowships subject to a cap of HK$120,000 for each student regardless of the actual study period of their programme.
Three Fellowship awards are available for local students admitted to this programme under the Fellowship Scheme supported by the HKSAR Government. Local students admitted to the programme in full-time, part-time, or combined study mode will be invited to submit applications for the fellowships.
