Landing my Dream Job
Young Jin YU
Bachelor of Engineering in Energy Science & Engineering (Class of 2019)
SK innovation Korea

Hi, I am Jin, an international student who graduated from SEE in 2019. My major was Energy Science and Engineering.

I am now working in SK innovation (SKI), Korea’s first and largest energy chemical company as a junior engineer. SKI is focusing on the electric car battery industry. Since environmental impact of the fossil fuel has become great issue, there are great efforts to replace petroleum cars by electric cars worldwide. Being a junior engineer of the “Battery Production Unit”, I am responsible for maintaining and improving the manufacturing environment at the formation process of the battery, to achieve maximum yield of production.

When I was preparing for the job application of SKI, I found that the experience in SEE came in a great help. The School and our professors provided with us the best study environment. The wide range of energy science and engineering courses also paved a solid knowledge foundation for me. Alongside with the courses, the laboratory internship and the final year project were great opportunities that enabled me to study the field of my own interest, which is to find alternative energy source to replace fossil fuel. Against this background, I am now working as an engineer of the electric car battery and I am determined to contribute more in the near future!
