Attended by around 40 participants in total on 20 and 21 October 2021, the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) successfully organized its first-ever SEE Corner, two identical mingling sessions intended for freshmen.  Through the SEE Corner, the School wishes to develop a close bond between faculty members and freshmen, and to facilitate freshmen in planning their 4-year studies and career development in terms of the co-curricular activities at an early stage.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) is pleased to announce that the following students have received the “VTech Innovation & Sustainability Award”. The Award is established through a generous donation from the VTech Group of Companies (VTech) and is intended for students who have demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation and impact in their Final Year Project (FYP) related to sustainability.

Dr Shauhrat S. Chopra, Assistant Professor, was invited by The Connected Cities Conference, StartmeupHK Festival 2021 to be the session moderator of "Upskilling for the future" on 27 May 2021. The Conference featured global and regional speakers from corporates, startups and the academia world to showcase a number of smart technologies including IoT, blockchain AI and data analytics to enhance a city’s liveability, workability and sustainability.

With its commitment to making the world a better place, Binnies Hong Kong Limited (“Binnies”) has generously donated to the School of Energy and Environment in support of the selected 2020/21 final year projects (as listed below) relating to renewable energy and waste management.

Ms. Lau Wing Chi Celia (Planning Engineer) and Mr. Lo Kwan Ming (System Control Engineer), from HK Electric Co., spoke at the SEE Dialogue with Professionals on 22 March 2021. Ms. Lau and Mr. Lo, young professionals in the engineering field, both shared their experience in power utility and provided useful tips on career development as an engineer to our undergraduate students. The online sharing session was well received.
