On 10 May 2024, the outstanding undergraduate students of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) were awarded the “Great Eagle Group Scholarship” at the Great Eagle Scholarship Presentation Ceremony. The ceremony was held at the Great Eagle Centre and was attended by Prof. Kenneth Leung, Dean of the SEE, Prof. Patrick Sit, Associate Dean, and Mr. Andrew To, Associate Director of the Development Office.

On 8 June 2024, some of our SEE faculty members, administrative and technical staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students, led by our Dean Prof. Kenneth Leung, travelled to Dongguan and visited the City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory (SLAB), and the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). The expedition gave them an opportunity to visit the newly established and vibrant campus and explore the state-of-art research facilities.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) successfully concluded its annual SEE Retreat on 23 May 2024, a day dedicated to fostering collaboration, inspiring discussions, and strengthening the bond among faculty members and staff.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) is thrilled to announce that the following students have been selected as the recipients of this year’s Outstanding Final Year Project Award.  The Award is given to students who have achieved exceptional performance in their final year projects in terms of (i) technical or scholarly quality, (ii) originality, creativity, and innovation, and (iii) impact.

Researchers from City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) achieved tremendous accolades at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (IEIG) by winning a total of 36 awards, including 2 Special Prizes, 8 Gold Medals with Congratulations of the Jury, 10 Gold Medals, 11 Silver Medals and 5 Bronze Medals. Among the CityUHK’s winning teams, 14 of them are start-ups and teams incubated by HK Tech 300.

The beach cleaning event at Shek O Beach was successfully held on 14 April 2024. SEE Student Chapter partnered with the Hong Kong Cleanup and gathered a group of participants from the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) to participate in this meaningful event. The team from SEE including Prof. Edwin TSO, Associate Professor and the advisor of SEE Student Chapter; SEE staff, alumni, postgraduate and undergraduate students, with over 40 people joining this event.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) hosted a highly anticipated SEE Industrial Partners’ Tea Reception on the 28 March 2024 at the CityUHK. The event brought together senior industrial executives, faculty members, and undergraduate students to foster discussion and exchange ideas on shaping the education of future energy, environment, and sustainability professionals.

Several esteemed faculty members from the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), including Prof. Patrick Sit, Prof. Yun Hau Ng, Prof. Edwin Tso, Prof. Jung-Eun Chu, Prof. Jason Lam, Prof. Henry He, Prof. Yiming Qin, along with a group of SEE students, had the privilege of being invited to visit Xue Long 2 at Victoria Harbour, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong on 10 April 2024.
