To connect members of the CityU community, CityU organized the “CityU Homecoming 2022” on 13 March 2022 (Sunday). SEE arranged the “SEE Homecoming – Mix and Mingle” Session particularly for SEE alumni, faculty members and students to meet and chat online. Over 30 SEE members joined the online mingling session on a sunny Sunday.
At the “SEE Dialogue with Professionals: Considering a Career Path in Environmental Management?” held on 17 January 2022, Mr. Norman Cheng, Business Development Director, Veolia Hong Kong, shared with over 130 SEE students and staff the career opportunities in environmental management. Under the supervision of Dr. Edwin Tso, three SEE PhD students, namely, Mr. Martin Zhu, Mr. Johnny Lin, and Miss Kelly Chen participated in the 7th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition cum National & Greater Bay Area Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competitions (HKSAR), organized by Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association.
Under the supervision from Dr. Denis Yu, a cross-disciplinary team comprising undergraduates from Department of Economics and Finance, and Department of Mechanical Engineering, recently won the HK Tech 300 seed fund for the project regarding development of low-cost rechargeable Zn-MnO2 batteries.
Close to 50 SEE undergraduates, postgraduates, research staff and faculty members formed into a group to join the Eco Expo Asia 2021 on 27 October 2021 at the Hong Kong Exhibitions & Conventions Centre. The group took part in the green building guided tour and learnt a lot more on the latest technologies.

Attended by around 40 participants in total on 20 and 21 October 2021, the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) successfully organized its first-ever SEE Corner, two identical mingling sessions intended for freshmen. Through the SEE Corner, the School wishes to develop a close bond between faculty members and freshmen, and to facilitate freshmen in planning their 4-year studies and career development in terms of the co-curricular activities at an early stage.
