The second seminar of the Pro-Chancellor’s Seminar Series took place on 1 March 2024 at City University of Hong Kong, exploring the dynamic realm of “Energy, Environment, and Sustainability: Local Strength and Global Impact”. The seminar was led by Professor Chen Guohua, the Dean of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE). The event also served as a celebration of the 15th anniversary of the School’s establishment, highlighting its noteworthy achievements and ongoing commitment to societal well-being.

In alignment with the upcoming International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11, 2024, CityU organized an inspiring photo shoot that beautifully captures the strength and brilliance of our female faculty members.

SEE Alum Dr. Lu Yunguo has won the second prize of Outstanding Achievements awarded by the Economics Society of Zhejiang Province, for his paper titled “Environmental information disclosure and firm production: evidence from the estimated efficiency of publicly listed firms in China” (co-authored with Prof. Lin Zhang, Associate Professor of SEE). Dr. Lu was a former PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Lin Zhang and graduated from SEE in 2022.

Prof. Lin Zhang has received the Outstanding Paper Award for his co-authored paper titled “High carbon path dependence, low carbon expectation, and green transition of technological paradigm” in the national competition of the China Society of Industrial Economics, a national level association administered by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
