Dr. Yun Hau Ng’s latest review paper, titled “Heterogeneous photocatalysts: an overview of classic and modern approaches for optical, electronic, and charge dynamics evaluation” was recently published in Chemical Society Reviews -- a leading journal in the discipline of chemistry and chemical engineering with impact factor of 40.182.
Dr. Vincent Cheng (Arup Fellow, Director of Building Sustainability Group, and Global Leader of Environment and Building System Skill Network, ARUP, Hong Kong), delivered a colloquium for the SEE community on 23 January 2019. Dr. Cheng focused on the invention process to inspire the students to have more brilliant ideas to contribute to the world. The worldwide visions and trends on sustainability development were also be discussed. The colloquium was very well-received.
Dr. Denis Yu, Associate Professor, has been selected by the University committee to receive one of The President's Awards (TPAs). TPAs recognize faculty who have made outstanding contributions to research, professional education, and service that have helped CityU achieve local and global distinction.
Dr. Edwin Tso’s paper entitled “Development of a phase change material (PCM)-based thermal switch” was published on HKIE Transaction Vol 24 No 2 and awarded the HKIE Best Transactions Paper Prize 2018!
The team of Miss Zhou Yujing, Miss Xiao Lingran, Mr. Wan Ho Ching and Mr. Choi Lai Yun, (three second-year-undergraduates and one third-year-undergraduate majoring in Energy Science and Engineering) won Second Prize in “Technology Innovation” at the 11th Competition of National University Student Social Practice and Science Contest on Energy Saving & Emission Reduction held on 9 August 2018.
Dr. Sam Hsu’s review paper titled "A Review on morphology engineering for highly efficient and stable hybrid perovskite solar cells" is highlighted as a Hot Article and recently featured in the top 5% of most read articles in "Journal of Materials Chemistry A".
Congratulations to our final-year undergraduate student, Miss Nicole TUNG Hiu-ching, who has won the Merit Prize of Outstanding Electrical Power and Energy Engineering Student Award 2018 organized by Power and Energy Section (PES) of The Institution of Engineering and Technology Hong Kong (IET).
Dr. Patrick Lee and Dr. Carol Lin Sze-ki (Associate Professors in SEE) were two of the three recipients of the BESS Achievement Awards in the Bioenergy and Biorefinery Conference organised by the BioEnergy Society of Singapore (BESS) held in National University of Singapore on May 16-18, 2018.
