Dr. Edwin Tso delivered a lecture entitled “Next Generation of Green Building Technologies: Passive Radiative Cooling & Thermochromic Smart Windows” for the “Science in the Public Service” 2022 Forum and Lecture Series on 13 August 2022 at the Hong Kong Science Museum.
Mr. Chong Man Hin, recent BEngESE graduate, won the 2nd Runner-up (Individual Project) of 2021/2022 Best Final Year Environmental Project Award hosted by Environmental Division, HKIE. The award-winning project is titled “Bio-photoelectrochemical Hybrid Devices for Simultaneous Wastewater Treatment and Solar-fuel Generation”.
Fifteen academic subjects at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) have been ranked in the top 50 in the world, according to ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2022. Among those listed subjects, Energy Science & Engineering ranked 1st in Hong Kong and 23rd in the world. It demonstrates SEE and University’s excellence and strengths.
Dr. Denis Yu’s paper titled “An All-Fluorinated Electrolyte Towards High Voltage and Long Cycle Performance Dual-Ion Batteries” has been published in Advanced Energy Materials (IF: 29.37; DOI:10.1002/aenm.202103360) and featured as inside cover in the Vol. 12, No. 19.
Teaming up with two students from the HKUST, Miss OU Sze Yiu Sylvia, a third-year EVE student, won the 1st Runner-Up in the “Green Energy Dreams Come True” Competition (Tertiary) held by HK Electric with the project titled “Hydrogen-A Big Step Towards Utopia”.
We are proud that Dr. Alicia AN and Dr. Chunhua LIU of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) have been awarded the “RGC Research Fellow” in the Research Fellow Scheme (RFS) by RGC in 2022/23!
Dr. Edwin Tso and his research team won the Outstanding Paper Award in Energy Sustainability 2022, an International Conference organized by The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), on July 12 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
The Research Grants Council (RGC) has just announced the results of the GRF exercises for 2022/23. In this latest competition, SEE faculty members have secured 8 awards, with a total funding exceeds HK$7 million. SEE continues to strive in research excellence towards energy and environmental areas.
To nurture young leaders in the fields of energy, environment and sustainability, the School is pleased to announce that Veolia Environmental Services China Limited has kindly agreed to donate a scholarship to the University in order to reward SEE students with outstanding academic performance and promising attributes with effect from the 2021/2022 academic year. There shall be four scholarships in each academic year and the value of each scholarship shall be HK$10,000.
