Prof. Jin Shang, Associate Professor of SEE, has been awarded a grant of HK$1.02M and additional provisions for postdoctoral researchers over a period of two years for his project titled "Development of Molecular Sieve for Oxygen Production with Low Power Consumption." This project aimed at developing next-generation adsorbent materials and novel gas separation processes for efficient oxygen production from air with high energy efficiency.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) and the College of Business (CB) have teamed up to introduce a new double degree programme in Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Science and Engineering and Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. This programme, which is set to commence from the academic year 2024/25, is hosted by the School of Energy and Environment (SEE).

We are proud to announce that Professor Wei WU, Associate Professor of School of Energy and Environment, has been awarded the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Hong Kong and Macau) by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) [2023年度國家自然科學基金優秀青年科學基金項目 (港澳)] for 2023. The Excellent Young Scientists Fund is highly competitive and is granted annually to support young scientists with outstanding achievements in basic research to conduct innovative research in their areas of interest and expertise.

Congratulations to Mr. Zhixiong DING, PhD student of Prof. Wei WU, Associate Professor, School of Energy and Environment (SEE), for receiving the Distinguished PhD Student Award under the Excellent Young Researcher Award category of Energy and Built Environment at the third International Chinese Conference on Energy and Built Environment. Zhixiong’s research focuses on absorption-based thermochemical energy storage.

School of Energy and Environment (SEE) is delighted to announce that Dr. Martin Zhu, one of our esteemed PhD alumni, has been selected as a member of the “Green Technology and Finance Development Committee.” This committee is chaired by the Financial Secretary, Mr. Paul CHAN, and aims to accelerate the development of green technology and finance in Hong Kong while leading the way towards achieving carbon neutrality through new goals and strategies.

Prof. Edwin Tso, Associate Professor of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) and our PhD alumnus, Dr. Martin Zhu, have recently been featured in local media and press, including Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) News, HK01 Company Limited (HK01), Ming Pao, Oriental Daily News (ON.CC) and TVB Pearl Magazine for their success of using invented cooling paint of i2Cool Limited to reduce energy consumption of a secondary school in summer.
