We are thrilled to announce that SOLAR.E Tech LIMITED, led by Prof. Wei Wu (Co-founder and Technological Advisor) and his PhD student Fuxiang Li (Co-founder and CEO), has been shortlisted for the HK Tech 300 Angel Fund (10th cohort). This prestigious fund will provide HK$1.0 million to support SOLAR.E's technology for its business development.

Under the supervision of Prof. WU Wei, postdoc Dr. DING Zhixiong and PhD student Mr. LI Fuxiang from the School of Energy and Environment won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 2nd International Conference on Energy Engineering (ICEE 2024), held from 29 Nov to 02 Dec 2024. On 2 December 2024, a team led by our esteemed Associate Dean (Internationalization and Outreach), Prof. Edwin Tso, and including SEE alumnus Mr. Cheung Tim Yiu, received the Silver Award for the Electricity-free Cooling Technology developed by i2Cool Limited. This technology startup was incubated by City University of Hong Kong's HK Tech 300 and recognized at the Hong Kong Green Innovations Award (HKGIA).

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is pleased to announce that Professor Kenneth Leung, our esteemed Dean, has been reappointed as the Chairperson of the Lantau Conservation Fund Advisory Committee (LCFAC) for the term from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2026. The LCFAC, established in October 2020, holds a critical role in advising on the administration and operation of the Lantau Conservation Fund (LCF). The committee's responsibilities include vetting applications and monitoring funded projects.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is proud to announce that Prof. Wen-Xiong Wang has been appointed as the Chairman of the Expert Committee on Food Safety, effective 15 September 2024. In this key role, Professor Wang will lead the committee in advising the Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene (DFEH) on critical matters related to food safety.
