Prof. Chunhua Liu, Chair Professor at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), has been awarded the Second Prize in Scientific and Technological Progress (Basic Research Category) at the 11th China Power Supply Society (CPSS) Science and Technology Awards.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) warmly congratulates Mr. Daisong Chen, a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Jin Shang, Associate Professor at SEE, on the publication of their latest research article in Nature Communications, titled “Size-inverse molecular sieving xenon/krypton separation through cation-tuned gating effect within Linde Type A zeolites”.

We are proud to share that Mr. Hongwu Chen, a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Chunhua Liu at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), has received the Best Student Paper Award at the 2025 International Conference on Power Engineering and Electrical Technology (PEET 2025). He was joined by fellow PhD students Yiwen Liao and Hongliang Guo, and postdoctoral fellow Dr. Yong Chen, in co-authoring the award-winning paper.

From 13 to 17 October 2025, the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at CityUHK was honored to host our Distinguished Visiting Professor (DVP) Prof. Ning Yan for an inspiring week of academic exchange. A global leader in sustainable materials and holder of the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Bioproducts at the University of Toronto, Prof. Yan’s visit focused on sustainable bioproducts as part of broader efforts to advance a low-carbon future, sparking vibrant academic dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Ms. Qi ZHU, a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Jason Chun-Ho LAM, Associate Professor at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), received the Best Poster Presentation Award at the ICOBTE & ICHMET 2025 Conference, jointly organized by the 17th International Conference on the Biogeochemistry of Trace Elements (ICOBTE) and the 22nd International Conference on Heavy Metals (ICHMET),  held in Korea from 22–26 September 2025.
