The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is proud to announce that two of its PhD students, Mr. Ziyi Wang and Mr. Jia Lei, under the supervision of Prof. Jian Wang, Assistant Professor at SEE, have received the Excellent Poster Awards at the 2nd National Conference on Energy Chemistry.

Congratulations to Dr. Zeyu Tao, Postdoctoral Researcher in Prof. Jin Shang’s group at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), and former MSc and PhD student, on the publication of his research paper “Complete ambient-temperature NO₂ removal by mature zeolite adsorbents via a cooperative adsorption mechanism” in Nature Communications.

Dr. Yong Chen, Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), under the supervision of Chair Professor Chunhua Liu, has received the 2025 IDC Transactions on Industry Applications Third Paper Award for his manuscript entitled “Predictive Control of Five-leg Inverter Driving Dual PMSMs for Overcurrent Suppression”, published in IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications in 2024.

Prof. Edwin TSO, Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach) at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) and Director of the FIRST Programme, led the inaugural technology pilot of the Fostering Innovation for Resilience and Sustainable Transformation (FIRST) Programme, a United Nations-endorsed initiative under the UN Decade of Science for Sustainable Development (2024–2033).

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) is proud to announce that Prof. Alex JEN, Prof. Zhiguo YUAN AM, and Prof. Angus YIP have been named among the Highly Cited Researchers 2025, as published by Clarivate. The Clarivate list recognises scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated substantial influence in their fields by publishing multiple highly cited papers ranked in the top 1% by citations, reflecting exceptional academic impact and research excellence.

Dr. Jie Tan, Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), under the supervision of Prof. Edwin Tso, Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach) of SEE, has been honoured with the Chen Xuejun Excellent Young Scholar Paper Award (青年學者陳學俊優秀論文獎) at the 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics, held from 30 October to 2 November in Beijing, China.

His membership will officially commence on 1 January 2026.

SEE hosted an insightful Colloquium titled “Autonomous Drive Towards a Greener Future” on 4 November 2025, spotlighting the intersection of sustainability and smart mobility in airport operations. The event featured Ir Joseph Lam, General Manager of Technical Services Systems at the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), whose leadership has been instrumental in advancing green innovation at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
