The School of Energy and Environment (SEE), City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and the School of Sustainability, Arizona State University (ASU) have successfully concluded the highly anticipated 2024 CityUHK-ASU Summer Program on Urban Sustainability, which brought together students, faculty, and industry experts from Hong Kong and the USA to address pressing issues in urban sustainability and resilience.

The Hong Kong government is actively promoting the construction of waste-to-energy facilities to address the issue of landfill overcrowding. One such facility is I·PARK1, which is currently being built and will be able to process 3,000 tons of municipal solid waste per day. Another facility, I·PARK2, is also under development and is expected to handle approximately 6,000 tons of waste daily. Prof.

The School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong embraced a momentous occasion on Wednesday, 12 June 2024, as it hosted its graduation ceremony, SEE Commencement 2024.  This event served as the crowning achievement for graduates hailing from diverse programmes within SEE, signifying the culmination of their extraordinary academic odyssey.  Esteemed guests, faculty members, and families and friends of the graduates graced the ceremony with their presence, adding to the atmosphere of joy and accomplishment.

On 10 May 2024, the outstanding undergraduate students of the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) were awarded the “Great Eagle Group Scholarship” at the Great Eagle Scholarship Presentation Ceremony. The ceremony was held at the Great Eagle Centre and was attended by Prof. Kenneth Leung, Dean of the SEE, Prof. Patrick Sit, Associate Dean, and Mr. Andrew To, Associate Director of the Development Office.

On 8 June 2024, some of our SEE faculty members, administrative and technical staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students, led by our Dean Prof. Kenneth Leung, travelled to Dongguan and visited the City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory (SLAB), and the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). The expedition gave them an opportunity to visit the newly established and vibrant campus and explore the state-of-art research facilities.
