Dr. Yun Hau Ng received the ASPIRE Prize 2019

Our School of Energy and Environment’s Dr. Yun Hau Ng has recently won the APEC Science Prize for Innovation, Research and Education (“ASPIRE”) Prize 2019 on his Clean Energy Research. The prize was in recognition of his research in mimicking natural photosynthesis to generate renewable energy. Dr. Ng specializes in using sunlight to split water into clean hydrogen. ASPIRE is an annual award that recognizes young scientists across the Pacific Rim region who demonstrate excellence in scientific research, this year the ASPIRE Prize promotes innovative research that advances society through “natural laboratories”.

The ASPIRE is an annual award which recognizes young scientists who have demonstrated a commitment to both excellence in scientific research, as evidenced by scholarly publication and cooperation with scientists from other APEC member economies.

An award presentation ceremony at Chile was successfully held. It was well attended by delegates, senior officials of education or technology ministry from different countries, and the sponsors from Wiley and Elsevier.
