From 22 to 29 August 2025, fifteen students from City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) — including twelve from Physics, one from Mathematics, and two from Electronic Engineering — participated in a week-long study tour at Nankai University, Tianjin. The delegation was led by Prof Sunny Xin Wang and Prof Xiao Li from CityUHK, and warmly hosted by Prof Zongqiang Chen of Nankai University. The program was partially supported by the “Ten Thousand Student Exchange Program” under the Ministry of Education, which promotes academic and cultural exchanges between Hong Kong, Macao, and Mainland China, and partially by the Department of Physics.

Nankai University, one of China’s most prestigious and historic institutions, is renowned for its leading contributions to physics and related sciences. This exchange further strengthened the academic collaboration between the two universities and provided CityUHK students with valuable opportunities for cross-border learning and personal growth.

During the visit, students attended academic lectures, engaged in research presentations and discussions with Nankai faculty and peers, and toured state-of-the-art laboratories. The itinerary also included cultural and educational visits to the Binhai Science and Technology Museum and the iconic Binhai Library.

By combining rigorous academic exchange with rich cultural immersion, the program not only broadened the students’ scientific horizons but also deepened their appreciation of China’s educational and cultural landscape.
