Prof Dirk Pfeiffer gave a keynote talk entitled "The Role of Veterinary Public Health in an Increasingly Complex World" at the Hong Kong Government’s Food and Environmental Hygiene Department’s Veterinary Public Health Workshop 2025, which had the theme "Advancing Food Safety — Strategies and Challenges".
He emphasized the critical importance for researchers and policymakers to develop system thinking skills as the basis for developing epidemiologically effective, ecologically and economically sustainable, and socially just risk management policies.
