Wearable blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring patch at the ear site
Hypertension and hyperglycemia are major global causes of morbidity and mortality. Addressing the need for preventative care, this project develops "EarSanus", an ear-worn patch providing continuous, non-invasive blood pressure and glucose monitoring, particularly for senior care. Building on prior research in PPG-based blood pressure estimation and microneedling-based glucose sensing, EarSanus will integrate both into a single comfortable prototype. A clinical pilot study with volunteers from premium assisted living communities will evaluate accuracy, comfort, and usability, gathering feedback from residents and caregivers. The Data will guide iterative design, validate market acceptance and position EarSanus for proactive care, initially offered to patients and physicians.
