This course aims at providing a systematic and fun perspective to describing and interpreting the differences in the ways human beings view the world and understand each other. It fits students who are interested in discovering languages in the world and in exploring the significance of the language impact on people and on societies. It will also help cultivate a keener awareness of language and culture in the world, and promote appreciation of differences among people and across cultures. Teaching and learning activities will include lectures, tutorials, class discussion and presentation, projects, and field works wherever feasible.
