The main focus of the course is intended to look at how different cultural/societal backgrounds and values influence the managerial practices in the Asian Context. The course takes multi-disciplinary and comparative approaches, by exploring the development of management systems and practices through historical, political, and cultural/societal perspectives, and by comparing the similarities and differences between Asian societies. In this course, audio teaching materials will be used to help students towards a better understanding on particular concepts/theories. Students will be given chances to search on the Internet to find updated information on the taught topics; other learning activities such as guest seminars, evaluation of selected texts and a group project and presentation are also included to facilitate interactive and self-discovery learning.
